Titans Look To Build Off Of 2024 Championship Appearance in 2025
The University of Detroit Mercy women's lacrosse team looks to build off of the 2024 season which found the Titans in the MAC Title game. The championship game appearance came in the Titans' first ever time in the MAC tournament field which began in 2022. Detroit Mercy entered the tournament as the No. 4 seed and knocked off the No. 1 seed and host Central Michigan. Fist year head coach Alexa Matta had an interesting start to her tenure, originally being hired in the summer of 2024 as an assistant coach on then head coach Maddie Dugan's staff. Dugan would later take the head position at Eastern Michigan, allowing Matta to fill the Titans' vacancy prior to fall ball beginning. Matta joined the Taking The Field With Stevie Mac podcast hosted by Steven MacDonald and described the 2025 Titans as "hungry" after their taste of success in 2024.
