Premier Lacrosse Draft Recap

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) draft was held on Tuesday, May 6 with the Philadelphia Waterdogs holding the No. 1 pick.  The Waterdogs - to absolutely no one's surprise - took Cornell's CJ Kirst with the first pick.  I think many of the teams had a solid night on draft night. There were also some surprises. Let's break it down. Who did Well First, I think the California Redwoods nailed their first three picks. Granted it's hard to mess up having three top-10 picks. The fact that they got Chris Kavanagh at No. 10 while also getting Andrew McAdorey and Sam English was an A+ job.  I like the Atlas building through the midfield with this draft. That was a strategy that former head coach Ben Rubeor loved. Getting Matt Traynor at No. 8 was probably a dream scenario for Mike Pressler, and then he added Max Krevsky out of Yale in the second round. Premier Lacrosse League College Draft Preview

The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) College Draft is Tuesday, May 6 at 7 p.m. eastern.  There have been several mock drafts thrown around in the last few weeks from various beat writers and insiders. There seems to be a consensus on who the first round players will be - it's just a matter of order. However, there could be some surprises on the horizon just like we saw with the NFL draft. Several notable names in the NFL Draft projected to go in the first round found themselves waiting until day two or - in Shedeur Sanders' case - day three. So it makes me think; what kind of surprises could we see with the PLL Draft? Possible Redwoods Trade? I reached out to California Redwoods beat writer (and guest of the podcast) Phil Shore and asked him about a possible Redwoods draft day trade.
